Kirk MacDonald
Chief Executive Officer

With a career that spans nearly three decades of newspaper experience in editorial, sales, marketing, circulation, production and electronic media, Kirk MacDonald leads IM&I as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Before co-founding IM&I, Kirk was the CEO of the Denver News Agency. The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News are the seventh largest newspapers in circulation nationally, with 583,352 combined daily and 785,671 Sunday.

Prior to his return to Denver in July 2000, MacDonald served from 1998 to 2000 as vice president of newspapers for New York City-based Hearst Newspapers, the eight-largest newspaper company in the U.S. with 1.7 million daily and 2.5 million Sunday circulation. As a corporate executive, his responsibilities included sales, marketing, circulation, financial services, business development and new media.

From 1989-1998, MacDonald held a range of executive positions at The Denver Post. Hired as advertising director, he quickly became a key player in the leadership of the newspaper. He was promoted to vice president of advertising, senior vice president of sales and marketing and finally to executive vice president and general manager. In that role, MacDonald oversaw the sales, marketing, circulation and production functions at The Post, as well as the launch of denverpost.com.

Earlier in his career, MacDonald served as display advertising director for the San Antonio Light. He began his career as a sports reporter in 1974 for what is now known as the North County Times, a 90,000 circulation daily newspaper in North San Diego County, CA. His experience with the North County Times also included a five-year stint as Publisher of The Citizen. MacDonald is actively involved in the Denver community, serving on the Board of Trustees of both Regis University and the Webb-Waring Institute. He also serves on the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In addition, MacDonald is a member of Legatus, a national organization comprised of Catholic CEOs.


David Ehrlich
President & COO

Prior to co-founding IM&I, Mr. Ehrlich was Executive Vice President of The Bonham Group, a sports marketing company based in Englewood, Colorado. Prior to that, Mr. Ehrlich was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Kroenke Sports Enterprises (KSE), reporting directly to owner Stan Kroenke. KSE is the owner and operator of the NBA's Denver Nuggets, the NHL's Colorado Avalanche, the Colorado Mammoth, the Colorado Rapids, the Pepsi Center and the Altitude Sports and Entertainment cable television network.

Mr. Ehrlich, a Sports Business Journal 40 under 40 award winner, oversaw the business operations and legal affairs of the KSE sports franchises and other properties. Mr. Ehrlich led KSE's acquisition of three new sports franchises: the Colorado Crush of the Arena Football League, the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League and the Colorado Rapids of MLS. Mr. Ehrlich also led KSE's involvement in the field of entertainment.

Under his leadership, KSE formalized a booking and marketing partnership with Clear Channel concerts which culminated in the building of the Universal Lending Pavilion, a 5,000 seat outdoor amphitheatre. Mr. Ehrlich also led KSE's purchase of the historic Paramount Theater located in downtown Denver. Mr. Ehrlich is on the boards of Gold Crown Foundation and National Jewish Hospital.


Patrick Woods
Vice President, Marketing

In his current capacity, Patrick is responsible for creative and strategic marketing for IM&I, its media platforms and clients. Most notablely, Woods is working on the launch and growth marketing of SportZu.tv, a social networking and video network focused on youth sports, scheduled to launch in the winter of 2007.

Woods joined Kirk MacDonald and David Ehrlich to assist the launch of IM&I. Prior to IM&I, Woods was the Director of New Business at The Bonham Group, an international sports marketing, evaluation, and sponsorship sales company.

During his time at The Bonham Group, Woods worked with a number of major corporate and property clients, such as Kroenke Sports Enterprises, CITGO, the Atlanta Falcons, New York Life Insurance Company, Denver Public Schools, Piedmont Hospital, the Vancouver Canucks, PNC Bank, and the Indianapolis Colts.

A native of Pacific Palisades, California, Woods graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Sports Marketing. Woods was inducted into the Chamber 100, a Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce program for up-and-coming business professionals.


Jennifer Schmasow
Account Executive

After graduating from the University of Montana, Jennifer has spent the last two years as an interactive marketing specialist for one of the nation's leading medical device companies in Silicon Valley. With experience ranging across all interactive marketing platforms from search engine marketing to the development of interactive websites, Jennifer is happy to be back in the Midwest and excited to be a part of the team at IM&I.


Amanda Hutchings
Marketing Coordinator

Amanda is beginning her second year at IM&I as Marketing Coordinator. The James Madison University (JMU) graduate has collaborated on numerous projects and is also responsible for day-to-day office administrative tasks. In June 2007, she was named Event Coordinator for "Fridays in the Park", a weekly summer music and arts series located in downtown Denver.

While at JMU, Amanda was a four-year letter winner on the Dukes' soccer team and served as team captain for her senior season. She graduated from JMU in the spring of 2006 with a degree in Kinesiology with a Sport Management concentration.
